MUMMY HOT DOGS
LINDA / DREAMS OF ATLANTIS

These are the best Mummy Dogs in the world,
because they're stuffed with cheese. Also, each mummy is brushed with butter!

DIRECTIONS:

Ingredients -
1(8-oz.) can Crescent dough
3 slices American cheese
12 hot dogs
2 tbsp. melted butter
Dijon mustard

1. Preheat oven to 375° and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
Separate crescent dough into 4 rectangles, pinching together seams as necessary.
Cut each rectangle lengthwise into thin strips.

2. Cut each slice of American cheese into 4 strips.

3. Place a hot dog on top of a piece of cheese, then wrap with crescent dough
to look like bandages. (You’ll need about 4 pieces of crescent dough per hot dog.)
Repeat with remaining ingredients.

4. Place on prepared baking sheet and brush with melted butter.

5. Bake until crescent dough is golden and cooked through, 12 to 15 minutes.

6. Using a toothpick, dot mustard onto each hot dog to create eyes.

JACK SKELLINGTON CANDY APPLES
LINDA / MYSTIC MOONLIGHT

Jack Skellington Chocolate Covered Apples are an easy and impressive Halloween treat!
These are a great alternative to a plain candy apples recipe. Especially if any
of your friends or family are The Nightmare Before Christmas fans!

DIRECTIONS:

Ingredients -
4 Apples
Cups White Chocolate Morsels, (white chocolate melts can be used instead)
2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil or Shortening
Black Icing
4 Popsicle Sticks
Black & White Washi Tape, optional
Fine Tip Paint Brush

1. Cover popsicle sticks with washi tape.

2. Wash and dry apples. Remove stems and insert sticks.

3. Melt white chocolate and oil/shortening in microwave. Stir every 20-30 seconds.
Heat until almost smooth (about 1 minute) then stir vigorously until all chocolate
is melted.(You’ll want to use a dish or cup that is not much wider than
your apples and deep enough to fully submerge the apple.)

4. Let melted chocolate cool for 2-3 minutes.

5. Dip and allow the excess to drip off.

6. Transfer to plate covered with wax paper. Immediately transfer apples to
refrigerator. (To prevent chocolate puddles at base, spin apples after
refrigerating for 2-3 minutes. This will remove the excess chocolate at bottom.)

7. Once chocolate has fully cooled (5-10 minutes) dip in melted chocolate
one more time, repeating process.

8. After second chocolate coating has fully cooled, begin painting the Jack Skellington face.

9. Use a fine tip brush for painting.

EASTY CHEESY MUMMY
SAM / MYSTIC MANOR

This is a fun recipe for Halloween.

DIRECTIONS:

Ingredients -
2 cups Swiss or Monterey Jack cheese, finely shredded
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
1 cup cream cheese or goat cheese, softened 8 ounces
1/2 cup light sour cream (I like this texture better for the cheese ball, but regular is fine too)
1/2 yellow onion finely minced
1/4 cup chopped roasted red pepper
1/4 cup crumbled or chopped cooked bacon
1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
1/4 cup sliced almonds

Decorations -
1 cup cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)-
3 Tablespoons milk
Black food dye (optional)
2 peppercorns
sliver of roasted red pepper

1. Use a stand mixer to beat one cup of cream cheese and sour cream until fluffy.

2. Add the swiss and cheddar cheeses, onion, roasted pepper, bacon, parsley, and nuts.
Beat on medium speed until well mixed.

3. Refrigerate the cheese mixture until firm (about 1 hour) You can actually
skip this step to save time, but the cheese ball mummy will be pretty sticky
when you shape him. Wearing food prep gloves can help.

4. Shape cheese ball into a body on a pan or cookie sheet.

5. Mix the second cup of cream cheese and milk. Spoon into a pastry bag
with a flat or basket weave tip and pipe bandages onto the mummy body.

6. Use peppercorns and red pepper to make eyes and a mouth.

7. Refrigerate until 30 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers and pretzel sticks
for scooping, or bread to spread it on. Baby carrots are great too!

(OPTIONAL) If you would like to do the "dirty bandages", pull out a
tablespoon of cream cheese "frosting" and dye it a light gray. Smear that
in a line up your pastry bag before adding in the white cream cheese.

WINIFRID SANDERSON'S SPELLBOOK BROWNIES
SHANNON / DREAM PETS

This is a fun, witchy recipe for Halloween!

DIRECTIONS:

Ingredients - For the brownies

1/2 cup (120g) butter, melted
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
1/2 cup (60g) cocoa powder
1 pinch of salt
3.5 oz. (100g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
3.5 oz. (100g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
3.5 oz. (100g) walnuts, chopped

Ingredients - For the decoration

5.3 oz. (150g) milk chocolate glaze
6 Trolli Glotzer*
1 oz. (30g) semi-sweet chocolate glaze

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 10×8 inches baking pan with baking
parchment, grease lightly, and set aside. Melt the butter and let cool down a
bit. Roughly chop the chocolate and walnuts and set aside.

2. Add the melted butter and sugar to a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix well. In a second bowl mix the flour,
cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. Add to the bowl with the wet ingredients
and mix until just combined. Add the chopped chocolate, chocolate chips,
and chopped walnuts and fold in. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan,
smooth out the top, and bake for about 18-20 minutes. Check with a toothpick – the
brownies are done when the toothpick comes out mostly clean. Some moist crumbs
are ok. Take out of the oven and let cool down completely then cut into six equal pieces.

3. Melt the chocolate glaze and coat the brownies with it. Cut off the back of
the eyes (Trolli Glotzer) with a sharp knife so they are a bit smaller/flatter,
then press them into the chocolate coating on the brownies. Use some of the remaining
glaze to cover the top and bottom of the eyes slightly – these will be the eyelids.
Let everything dry. Melt the semi-sweet chocolate glaze and fill it into a piping
bag with a small round piping tip. Decorate the brownies (see photos) and allow
the chocolate to set. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days max.
